I found a white 1991 M5 with 68k miles at a local dealer. they want $22,900 or thereabouts. is this a good deal? notwithstanding the attributes of a rocketship, is this car going to be a nightmare to own?

thanks in advance
andrew

Price is high. I found a similar car in
superb condition at a dealership. Same
asking price, but upon mild prodding they
offered to part with it for $20k. The car
is still there six weeks later...I may buy
it at the end of summer if its still around
and they want to move it.

Before you buy, put down a deposit and take
it to a mechanic. You are buying $16,000 worth
of engine, and a car to wrap around it. In
other words, if the car is in need of serious
work you can quickly part with more money.
Get the engine pressure tested, check the water
pump, and check the rear shocks (should be fine
at that mileage).
