My transmission was hard to get into first or reverse in the morning. Shifting improved when it warmed up, but was still notchy.

Try the attached link to see what I did to fix it. The transmission still doesn't shift perfect when cold, but I am no longer worried about having to replace it in the near future.

As a side note, I had a tranny leak. The Dextron III I used was for older transmissions, and included "seal conditioners." The leak has nearly stopped.
