Car stumbles / staggers in the morning (archive)

Occasionally in the mornings my 94 520 starts to stumble and misfire as I drive. After about 5 mins when the engine is warmed up the problem goes away. It's not weather related as it happens under all conditions. It deosn't always happen either. Maybe 1 in 15 starts. Also it is an automatic transmission. Any ideas anybody?
