While I was replacing my SLS shocks I noticed that the SLS
shocks could be disassembled.

The piston and spring valves in the E-34, M5 rear SLS
shocks are impressive.

Yep.. If you use a soft hammer to remove the spring perch
then push the shaft seal & bushing assembly into the shock the snap rings can be removed and the shaft and piston can be removed. The inside of my original shocks looked good. I'll need to use a bore gage to see if I can determine the wear.

I guess I'll see if Sach sells the seal and bushing assembly.

I wouldn't mind also increasing the rebound rate by adding an additional valve spring to the piston assembly. I'd obviously be guessing at the amount of rate increase. I guess I couldn't go to far off by just adding one more reboung spring to the piston. I have several sets of these SLS shocks so I have lots of extra piston parts.

Has anyone done this before and/or purchased the seals and bushing assembly from Sach? Would be nice!!
Thanks,
Rod
