I don't know how they (BMW) broke it down, but it seems like they were pretty inconsistent with who had tilt or not. I don't think it can be borken down in terms of the year.

: I recently purchased a 96 328is and I cannot find the lever for the tilt steering wheel. I have looked where indicated in the manual but all there is is a cutout in
: the bottom of the steering column and no lever. I can see/feel a silver piece of metal and it does not move.

: I am afraid that the wheel was replaced with a non tilt. I verified from the VIN the model type and year
: and tilt wheel for the 96 is listed as standard.

: Thanks is advance....
