That's weird because I have the same car and my tilt has a good amount of tilt on it. Again I just set it and never touch it again. However the nice thing about having sport seats (recaro with electronic adjustable) which come on all of the sport package e-36 cars is that you can pretty much set your seat to adjust to the lack of the steering adjustment.

: My '93 325is Sport Package has a tilt wheel. The range of motion on the tilt, however, is VERY limited. While is doesn't have pre-set 'ratchet' stops, the range is only a couple of inches. I set it, and then never adjust it. Don't sweat not having tilt-wheel, on this car it's somewhat disappointing how limited it is.
