I can relate to your enthusiasm. I was really happy with my 3rd gen SE too. Yes, it really is a great car, and a surprisingly competent sports sedan. But better than my 97 328?

I think not.

The 328's inline 6 hurls you forward violently at any RPM. My Max could never accelerate like this baby! The max didn't come into it's powerband until about 4k. And as for road-handling and steering response and feedback; man, the Bimmer is in another league entirely.

Still, I will admit that the Max BOSE was MUCH better than the POS HK I got in my 328. It really had a much nicer interior too. The controls were more logically laid out, and the quality of the interior materials was higher than my BMW.

But it's BMW all the way for me! It's the driving experience that counts!

: YA YOU HEARD ME....NISSAN MAXIMA IN THE 3RD GEN. 1989-1994 IS SO MUCH BETTER THEN THESE BIMMERS! AND YOU GUYS KNOW IT....THE 4 DOOR MAXIMA JUST OVER POWERS AND SMOKES THE SHIT OUT OF THE BIMMER 4 DOOR AND LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER...ALSO IT IS MUCH MORE RELIABLE AND WONT HAVE ALL OF THOSE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS OF A BIMMER! DONT GET ME WRONG...I LOVE ALL GERMAN CARS AND I EVEN OWN A 1999 BENZ BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT THE MAXIMA FADES THE BIMMER ANYDAY! ILL PUT MY PINK ON THAT
