when it was new (1990) and I still have the car. It's now got about 49,700 miles on it and I think I am going to add it again at the next oil change since I think it's good for 50,000 miles. I don't think there is anyway to tell if this stuff works short of ripping the engine apart or doing a compression test at certain mileage intervals. Since you have no point of reference (i.e., the same car, driven the same way, for the same amount of miles) there is no way to tell if it works. I use it on the Nissan since I drive it very little. My E36 runs synthetic and my Jeep runs ordinary oil with no problems.

: On a friend's recommendation, i just added some slick 50 to my oil on my 95 M3. Are there any downsides to this treatment. Maybe it's the placebo effect, but the car does feel a bit easier to rev, almost more responsive.
: also, has anyone heard anything about the slick 50 manual transmission treatment? is it any good?
: thanks a lot,
