manual shift knob loose?! (archive)

The shift knob can just be pulled out really REALLY easily. What does bmw use to glue that knob to the metal stick in the first place?? It looks like some black rubbery material. Should I bring it back to bmw to have a look? Or just go for the do-it-yourself crazy glue method?
