directly tap off the high level signals going to the amp or to use a low level adaptor on the same taps and feed it to the RCA jacks on the Bazooka? It seems we have two different opinions here.

waiting to add some bass

: The amp that's included with the system does not contain crossovers. The only crossovers you will find in this system is in the speakers themselves. the rear speakers in the HK system are going full range(meaning the speakers are receiving frequencies from below 20hz to above 22khz.) If the speakers are getting less of a range, it doesn't matter anyway because all the bazooka tube is doing is taking the signal of the music coming in and using that signal to filter through it's own crossover built in to it's own power supply. So it doesn't even matter if the HK amp has a built in crossover. If you want to get even more technical, and still use the high level inputs of the bazooka, since the rear speakers are going full range, the best place to tap into the music is within the wiring of the speakers themselves. Since the rear speakers are 6x9 two-ways, they have a built in passive crossover included. Tap in to the speakers after the passive crossover into the wires going into the woofer. This way you are only getting the bass frequency going to the bazooka tube, and the built in crossover in the bazooka won't have to filter as much out. THe only advantage of tapping into the wiring before the amp is less noise. Like I said though it's better to use the bazooka using the low level inputs. (That will give you least "noise".) I know this from experience. I've tried it every possible way.)

:
: : You want to tap into one of the rear outputs BEFORE the amp, not the wires going to the rear speakers. Remember the crossovers in your amp? Those are limiting the frequencies both high and low going to the speakers. The rear headunit outputs will be full range. Go to www.adst.com and look at Upgrade I for the BMW E36. The wire colors are there also.

: : I would use the high level inputs on the Bazooka amp, first and if the volume is too low with the level cranked all the way up you may be able to use the low level inputs. I would not use a line level adaptor, they are not necessary and will only add noise.

: : : Can anyone who has installed a Bazooka powered subwoofer give me some tips on installation? (As far as electrical as well as mounting). Ideally, I'd like to use the RCA jacks and plug it into the factory amp or head unit, rather than use the high level inputs. The rear speaker wires don't seem easily accessible anyway. I have the factory Harmon Kardon system on my 98. TIA
