Help! Idle keep go from 750~1500 RPM on 92 318is? (archive)

I have a 5 speeds 92 318is. When I stop at the stop light, my idle went from 750 to 1500 RPM. It keep go up and down. Sometimes, it stall completely. Any hints? What should I check? No engine check light on. TIA
