i rolled over a rim/tire that came off a car on the freeway before. it damaged part of the bodywork, dented my wheel that rolled over it, and bent the bilstein sport shock on that corner of the car. i took it to bilstein in san diego - the shock housing was visibly bent - so they gave me a new one under warrenty. just one though, even though koni, for example, would have given you two since shocks should be replaced in pairs only.

: Hello all,

: Has anyone ever had problems with a bilstein shock failing prematurely? I hit a pothole the other day (unavoidable) and noticed that my drivers side rear of the car seemed to "slam". After checking out the shocks, it seems as if that shock is pretty soft compared to the rest of my car. Could this be a problem with that shock or with something else on that side of the suspension? It does it all the time now even on small potholes or bumps.

: Thanks for any input..
