fiting M3 engine to 318i (archive)

can anyone tell me whether i can fit an M3 engine to my 1995 318i.
this car is to be completly overhauled with the new engine and aerodynamics package....the problem is the car is in Australia, and damned if i can find anythin about installing the M3 engine to these cars...can anyone help with this query.
