HELP!! CAR WONT START (more) (archive)

ok guys i hope one of ya can help me out. i trid to start my car this afternoon and it backfired then i tried again and it tried to idel then idled high then stalled. what the hell is going on. It was running fine before except for a slight pinging that i noticed the day before. Could it be my idle contorl valve and if so where is it? Or is it carbon build up? Any hrlp help would be greatly apprciatd thanks
