Found my first paint chip (suspected door ding) today while washing my black 328i.

It's tiny, but it broke the paint - 3/8 in. long but not dented. It looks more like a chip but it's in the middle of the passenger side door.

My question is - can it be repaired perfectly (remember this is a black car) with touch up paint or will the fix cheapen the look of the car?

Won't the car begin to look ridiculous if any future paint chips get touched up in this manner?

If I leave it alone, will it begin to rust through? Can I simply wax the spot often?
