: One problem may be that your window(s) don't "drop" when you open the doors. This would make it difficult to shut the doors smoothly. You can tell if this is the problem when you open the door and the dome lights don't come on (as long as you have the light switch set to the correct setting). If this is the case, you'll need to replace the window microswitches.

My windows "drop" perfectly everytime I open the doors, and "rise" again when I close them properly. Maybe the proper closing of the doors requires more strength because the doors are in fact larger, and do weigh more, than the doors of, let's say, a 325i.
