: If you are lucky enough to own a black car and use it just on weekends (or special occasions), then go for it. If you're going to drive it every day, it will look incredible 1-2 days after a waxing and that's about it (yes, it will look OK a bit longer). Swirls, scrtches, dust, dings, pits, all make a mess of black paint. I'm in California where there is no rain all summer. Still, the car will look awful by the end of a week from dust and dirt and pollen.
