Anyone changed tranny shifter shaft seal? (archive)

My 92 325i with the GM 4 speed auto seems to be leaking on the driver's side rear. I am thinking it might be coming from the seal around the shifter shaft. Anybody replaced this lately? Is there a particular procedure I can use to replace the seal with the minimum amount of effort (and cost). Any help would be appreciated!
