Bob,

First open you hood. Now stick you tongue out and wrap it firmly around the positive lead of your battery cable. Now have your mom or wife (maybe the same thing in your case) and give her the signal to start your car. This will short the computer out and reset everything.

Some people say it works better when it is raining hard outside but its up to you. This might take a few tries but don't give up!
