The reset lights need to be reset manually. There are several tools available to do this. In the past I've just used a bare wire to reset the lights. This time I will probibly have the dealer reset the lights. I plan to take the car in so they can do the Inspection II stuff that I can't do.

: how do you reset the inspection lights in the dash, are they intelegent? or do you have to manually reset them

: : My '96 328i which as 36k miles on it is up for it's first Inspection II. According to my Bentley manual I need to change the following:

: : Oil and oil filter
: : Spark plugs (what kind should I buy?)
: : Fuel filter
: : micro filter

: : Am I missing anything? The transmission and rear diff fluids were changed last fall so I'm not worried about those.
