every turbocharged engine needs a balance of boost, mixture richness, charge air temperature and ignition timing that allows it to run smoothly and efiifciently witht he type of fuel you are using. If you use lower octane fuel (i.e. 95 RON) then your engine is more suspectible to pinging (knocking/detonation/whatever you want to call it) because it ignites more suddenly and erratically. And also, with better fuel, you can risk running higher boost i.e. more power!
