318is vs. 328is (archive)

I own a 1993 318is with moderate modifications and I recently test drove a 1996 328is fully optioned with m3 sport package etc. The power difference was incredible however, I found the handling characteristics of the much heavier 328is not as appealing as my MUCH SLOWER but lighter 318is. Don't get me wrong...I'd take a straight trade for a 328is any day....but I was curious whether anyone else felt the same way? Has anyone ever compared the two cars on the track?
