hey matt,
i just got done last week tearing apart my dash to install my tv head unit and alarm. when i reassembled the glove....it was all loose and there was a gap in between the door and the "back." like when you closed the glove box...it would still flop around (very movable if you pushed it in a little) and it resonated during certain RPMs. what i ended up doing was taking small "feet" off from the bottom of my computer speakers. they're about half a centimeter in diameter and have one sticky side. usually used so stuff doesn't slide around. sometimes they're felt material...sometimes rubbery. i put/stuck one on each corner of the glove box door so when the glove closes...there's a tight fit.

from this....i learned that there should be an approx. 4mm gap, it doesn't look ugly this way. if your glovebox is tight..and ur just looking to fix the gap....then make sure you screw the casing/back part of the glove box in as tight as possible (without breaking anything) to ensure it is sitting as far back as possible. if there's any confusion....let me know...i'll help you out to the best of my knowledge. =)
