: the reason i say this is because i also know alot of you either have superwhite h1 bulbs in there and are disgusted by the fact that they still come out yellow and dull. this is very particular for those who have the XENON/HID converted headlights or superwhite bulbs. you're thinking to yourself...."why the hell cant they just match (headlights and foglights)??"
: i finally came up with a solution. i went to my local race shop (Dynamic Design - Canoga Park, CA) and asked the guy if he'll let me take a look at all the superwhite bulbs that they had up on display....i looked closely at each style (9004, 9007, h1, h3, h7, etc) and came to the conclusion that H7's were perfect for the task.....the reason being that they have the same h3 design style and they're only one filament.
: last night i retrofitted the H7 bulbs (HUGE & very long bulbs) into my fog lights. i had to drill out the hole where the h1's go....drilled out a circle the size of the diameter of the silver plate/backing of the h1 bulb. it popped right in....i just had to cut off/sand down some stands that were preventing the h7 to sit properly. the clip fit perfectly and it was mounted solidly.
: as for wiring...i used the existing positive connecter to go to one of the connectors on the bulb (just like on the h1 - except with the h7, there are two connectors that are identical) and then i cut the brown ground wire that goes to the foglights housing and crimped on a connector that goes to the other terminal on the bulb.
: i bumped the fuse that i was using in my fusebox up about 10A since the superwhite bulbs that im using are 100W each. i ran with these puppies all last night and the foglight housing has yet to melt...im going to be taking pictures of what i did this afternoon (again with my friends dig. camera) so you guys can know how to do it as well.
: i give warning to foglight melting since i only ran with them on for one night....im gonna run with them on all day today and see if anything happens....im assuming an hour of being on should determine whether or not the fog light housings can handle the heat or not.....we'll have to see.
: in the meantime though....i LOVE these things....bright as hell and i can HONESTLY say that they look like xenons (color wise at least)....as since they're 100 watters....they'll do me fine. if you have any questions.....let me know. =)
