I shipped my car from LA to Philly a few months ago. I did some research (on internet and from friends) before I decided on the company that I finally chose. I believe they are called American Autoshippers...or something like that. Look them up on the net and give them a call. They are a brokerage company based in Camarillo, CA. They have good records with the Better Business Bureau. They guy that I talked to was quite reassuring because I let him know how important it was to have my car arrive without any damages. The guy who came to load my car onto the truck was pretty careful and seemed familiar with BMWs. I went with an open truck because the enclosed truck would have cost twice as much. One thing I did was requested a specific spot on the truck where I wanted my car to be in, which was the one on the bottom tier in the middle. They said they would try to keep it there as much as possible, but would have to move when other cars have to be loaded/unloaded. It did arrive in that spot and without a scratch (in 8 days). Take time to inspect it before handing the money over. And yes, take a lot of pics, both inside and outside. Good luck.
: I am shipping my car this week.
: 1. Do you guys have any personal experience with the shipping companies ?
: 2. Any recommended shippers ?
: 3. Any advisable precautions to take while shipping? Specially if shipping in an open truck.
: Thanks,
