Good price for 1993 318i? (archive)

I'm looking for a car for my son and found a '93 318i. It is in great shape and mechanically it looks very good. There is a slight rear end howl at 60+ but that's the only fault I've found. It has 105,000 on it which is my greatest concern.

What's a good price that I should offer the guy? Also are there any mechanical concerns that I should check into with this mileage?

I'm usually on the Z3 board but hopefully will be on this one too once we get the E36. Thanks in advance!!
