I have a 1992 318i M/T (E36). The 325 and the 318 are exactly the same (Chasis, Rims, ect). The "is" model is much lighter however and can get a better launch. I have modified the 318i and can get 0-100km/h in 6.8sec.
The stock 318i does almost 10sec. If you are serious about mod. your car. Here are my specs:

Tuner Computer Chip, K&N Filtercharger Intake, Racing Dynamics Sport headers, B&B Triflow Exhaust System, AC Schnitzer 2.1L 175HP 16V DOHC Engine Swap, AC Schnitzer Front Upper Strut Bar, Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, Custom Overbored Throttle Body, Port Polish, M3 Clutch Kit. My car can almost catch up to a M3 Lightweight, so its pretty damn fast, soon I will get an Mini Turbo kit, and the car will really fly!!! I am a supplier for BMW Performance parts. EMail me if you want tips on increasing performance.
