It is for better weight distribution, it was a trick used on Mustangs, we'd swap the batter back to the truck, and that puts more weight over the back tires, and gives better weight distribution (traction) when accelerating.

: distribution, its because the weight of the inline is greater than the 4 pots so to compensate they place the battery in boot.
