In Reply to: then why would a heavy V8 have battery in engine posted by Bay?? on June 26, 2000 at 16:09:33:

The prevoius poster said that the 325 has better weight distribution than the 318is since the 318is had battery in engine bay. I was telling him that the reason 318i does not havebattery in boot is because it own 4pot engine is not as heavy as the Inline6 so therefor BMW dont have to offset the battery weight buy putting it in the boot.
EG 325 Engine is heavy it needs battery in boot to distrubute weight ,
318 engine light no need to put battery in boot still has 50/50 weight distrbution.
