my flex joint just went out on my 93 325i, made this real ANNOYING tick above like 35 mph. happened when i ground 4th gear a little while getting on the gas. the part was about 70 bucks, and labor like 90, cheap fix if u ask me. my car has 91k miles and the part was pretty hashed, i get a pic and post it soon.

anyways, good luck, doesn't sound like the flex joint i could be wrong tho.
