The dreaded THUMP here another symptom MORE (archive)

I drive my car and park my car on a slope, I therefor place it in first gear, some mornings when I depress clutch to go into neutral I notice the clunk/thump noise. Remember the car is switched off, this may help us pinpoint whats causing this on our bimmer, since mine too thumps from nuetral -1st-2nd thanks.
