Here is my story, I need some advice.

I just saw the car today, its a black BMW 1993 325is. It has all the options except heated seats. I met the owner and stepped inside the car, although I didn't drive it. The owner was a car buff who is in the industry as well. He is asking around 11.5K right now. Anyways, he added a SuperChip (is that what its called) to the car, as well as Bavarian shocks. He also added Rims and Toyo tires. The car is very low and near the ground. Everything in the car seemed nice, but the stereo was not stock, he had put his own. It also has a 10 CD Changer.

When asked about oil changes, he told me every 2500 Miles and he washed his car every sunday. ALso he said he always used Premium gasoline.

I asked him about any repairs done to the car or anything of that sort, and he told me he replaced the water pump, that was the only major thing. (Supposedly the stock waterpump does usually needs changin at 60-80K anyways)

He decided to drive the car and show me what it capable of. We took it to the road and the thing sped up quick, he showed me the manual and automatic features of the car and how it shifts. The brakes seemed superb, and the engine was clean as a whistle. We hit a 100 on the highway and stopped pretty good, I was impressed at what this Bimmer could do. NOw this is when he really shocked me, he said this car has superb handaling, so we were on a sharp curve, he told me to hold on as he hit the gas, needles to say I moved against the door hard, but the car was glued to the road.. all I could say was amazing! Originally he wanted 10,500 for the car but since he just added shocks, he is thinking 11,500 would be a good starting price. I am thinking of visiting him with my father and possibly a mechanic to check everything, and if it all checks out I am thinking of an offer of 10,000 or 10,500 but the 11.5 is a pretty decent deal and this guy looks like he took care of the car, especially if he added all these mods.

What do you guys think? I forgot to ask if he had reports of all the repairs and stuff, but I do have the vin and can run a carfax report anytime. I am a college student looking to buy by mid august, but I don't want to lost this car.

The things I saw wrong was the interior. It looked fine, everything was there, but the leather seemed older too me (is there any way to clean this up with good leather cleaner?) Also there is a minor dent in the rear on the trunk, not really big. Anyways, let me know what you think. If I was to buy this car, what should I replace and I was also thinking a new stereo.. Any advice is much appriciated...
