all BMWs and MBs I've driven are like that. Someone said their purpose is that if you are mistaken stepping on the gas pedal, you won't have a bad accident. I don't know if it is true but one thing I know for sure is the E36 chassis/body is much heavier than most of the japanese car. My E36 325i door sticker said it is closed to 5,000lbs.


For some odd reason I think my car is very slow off the line. My japanese car as soon as you floor it it takes off. My bimmer seems to stall for a second then take off why is this. I usually try revving my engine a little bit but it's still slow taking off. When I race my wife she takes off so much faster then I do. In the first 2 seconds she gets a whole car length in front of me but after that I easily beat her. I just want to know why its so slow to take off. Or does the BMW need a different technique to take off. Thanks.
