Is there still rust on the rotors? If there is, take off the wheels and clean the surfaces of the rotor with scotch brite or some fime steel wool to remove the dust. Since you have driven it already there is probably some rust embedded in the pads. This will take a while to work itself out. Brake cleaner might also work.


Just got back from a cross Canada tour on the old Hog to find my pride and joy locked in place by some terribly rusted disks, clearly visible through the 18's. Was a terrible racket getting the car moving and while it did improve it still makes a lot of noise and seems out of alignment. The disks are all new. Also the engine was REALLY rough when i started it...and the drivers door panel is terribly bubbled out now...

I guess its time to build that garage (or stay home)
