Seat leather wearing off--what tha ...? (archive)

'99 M3C with 14000 miles and I'm on my third driver's seat cushion cover in ten months! Leather keeps wearing through on left edge of driver's seat cushion. Dealer has replaced each time so far, but doubt he'll replace again and already I can see it starting to wear through again. I'm very careful getting in and out and never have anything in my left pocket. I'm probably average size and weight. Wear spot looks like a thin leather veneer over fabric!!Anyone else have this? Any ideas what could be causing this?
