I had a car over Saturday with an AA Short shifter. Their kit is simply an M-Z3 shift lever which they bend to duplicate the stock neutral position accommodating the different heights between the stock and new lever. The bend was very close to ideal. Since this is the only one I've seen, I'm not sure if the next one from them would be the same. Like me, they bend the shift lever from above with no evidence that they were there. Well done.
If you bend from below, like others I've seen, you also bend the rod going through the pivot ball which distorts the pivot ball. Also, doing it from below, it is harder to get an accurate bend.
