I notice this at my dealer too. They try to sound so confident but when it comes to mods they really haven't a clue. I had one "Tech" flat tell me an M3 exhaust would not fit my 325iC. He said it in that tone of voice that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. He was so sure the stagger was different, but he didn't know what he was talking about. It bolted right on. Anyway, I have 17 x 8 all around. The front is the least of your worries. Any rubbing will be in the rear. If you keep the rim sizes the same, you can rotate the tires. And lets face it I don't think you or anyone else on this board has much of a problem with breaking the rear loose under power, even if you have an m3. It just looks cooler. Something to think about at least.
Im upgrading the wheels on my '93 325is,I know i want 17"s. How wide should i go? I was thinking 17x8 front 17x8.5 rear. Do any of ya guys have this or something similar to it? The mechanic at my BMW dealer is saying that 17x8 doesnt fit in the front. I think that is BS because i read about you guys having this size and even wider on your bimmers. Are you having any problems with this size?
