when the abs activates, it drops all brake pressure to that particular wheel for a fraction of a second, regardless of how much brake force you are applying. what i am saying is that the abs does not apply the brakes for you - it just quickly modulates the pressure YOU apply when you step on the brake pedal. so if this is the case, upgrading to big discs should be transparent to the abs computer.
because M3's have larger stock brakes, the abs computer is programed with a different threshold so that you can better take advantage of the bigger disks.
as far as the ASC+T system, i don't know if this system works by controling engine power or by applying brake pressure so i don't know if upgrading to big discs would affect the traction control.
I want to install the brembo or AP racing brake kits onto my 98 323i Convertible. Anyone knows whether the ASC+T or the ABS will be affected if bigger rotors are used?
