My car does not have an alarm. Therefor, to lock all of the doors before I step away from the car I have to turn the lock on the driver's side door (or passenger side) from the outside. This seems a bit odd to me. Should I be able to push the lock down when the door is open in order to lock it?
Also, is the flat key the one that can lock all of the doors from the trunk?
I bought my 95 325i 4 dr used and was given the master key, the key that looks like the master key but w/o the light.
I was not given the flat spare key.
Please help.
>> This is normal. You must use the key to lock the car from the driver's door. This seems to be typical of German cars. It's a good feature, because it prevents you from locking your keys in the car.
>> I believe you can have an alarm installed which will allow the locks to be operated remotely. I don't know how this works because I don't have an alarm.
