It's a centrifugal charger, so it's like a turbo: It gradually builds about 6psi of boost, and gets real noticeable at around 4000RPM. Between 4000 and ~7000, the car has this steady pull that is almost scary -- not quite as much of a sudden kick as stock twin turbo Japanese cars, but it's pretty damn close. Coupled with the BMWs handling and steadyness at high speed, getting into the "Watch your head as you get in my cruiser." realm is very very easy.
I got the unit used for $4500CDN. Installation probably was about $500CDN by Dave at Motronix (highly recommended) but I had a whole slew of other things done so I'm not sure on the exact cost of just a charger install -- best bet is to get a quote, and see what he has lying around the shop.
New from ERT, these cost about $5000US, including larger Bosch injectors, the chip, and so on.
Dyno - I will probably hit a dyno this week sometime, so I'll post numbers at that point. The standard ERT set on a stock 325/328 gets 275HP+. With all the other stuff, it'll be interesting to see where it gets me.
(In regards to the doors/shutters, nope, I'm in the "Internet game"...)
Dan,
Fill us in on the details of the blower - what brand, dyno numbers, where did you get it from, who installed it, how much, wtc., etc., etc.
Thanks
P.S. are in you doors/shutters business?
