I just had this unit installed yesterday. I was lookimg at the MB-75 but I had read in a lot of consumer reviews that it skips over the smallest pothole (that would be hell for Houston) and that it doesnt play CD-Rs.

Anyway, if anyone else out ther has the CD-45z, what do you do for a changer....I wanted something I could put in the trunk but Nakamichi only seems to make indash changers which basically means they'll have the skipping problems too. Any suggestions?

Finally, I was a little disappointed to find out that the unit is made in Malaysia (not that I'm prejudiced or anything, but you just can't beat Japanese manufacturing when it comes to electronics). Does anyone know if its possible to get a CD-45z which is made in Japan?

Thanks

I was going the same route, planning on getting the cd-45z but instead i got the mb-75. It's totally worth it. I haven't had the problems with skipping and I drive around in Berkeley and San Francisco which have some of the worst roads. The stuff about CD-R's is also untrue. Most of my cd's I play are mixes i burnt myself and i have not had a single problem with any of them. There might be a problem with cheap cd-r's, the skinny ones but I haven't run into that. I use maxell cd-r's and cd-rw and have not any problem so far. Definitely recommend the mb-75, sounds amazing and is very convenient. It even comes with a remote that fits perfectly into the steering wheel of my 96 328i so I essentially have steering remote capability, but in a limited fashion.
