When was last time fuel filter was replaced? Also, you could check the small hot wire coming off the battery, my '94 had similar symptoms, engine would turn but not start, I checked filter, throttle pos. sensor, relays, pump, ended up being the wire coming off the battery, it goes into the fuse box and then to ECU. The large wire goes to starter and everything else, so it would turn, but there wasn't any power going to ECU or pump. A BMW mechanic friend of mine said this was pretty common, the wires aren't held in very well, and work loose over time.
