for the e36, the park distance control sensors are mounted onto the painted part of the rear bumper - not on the plastic rub strip as in the 5 or 7 series. so you're gonna have to drill holes into your bumper cover, which is a lot more scary than drilling holes into the rub strip.plus, e36 is not exactly a huge car man...
