the musty odor is caused by mold growing in the evaporator enclosure. The proper fix is to get under the car, find the drain tubes, vacuum them out, or carefully probe them out. Water must drain completely. Then changethe microfilter, not too bad, check Ron Stygar's tech notes at the top of the message board, excellent tech advice. While in there, inspect for debris that could block drain tubes, vacuum out, and spray entire area with a mild solution of bleach. This will kill everything in there. Then flush with clean water to remove all traces of bleach.

Periodically inspect the drain tubes, this problem has plagued cars since the dawn of time.
