What's the best Air Filters and Plugs? (archive)

I have a 1993 325i sedan, I want to put a new air filter in it. I am going to go with K&N but I was wondering which would be better, the one that sits n the air box or a power cone? I heard that the Power cone can take away a bit of low end power on some motors does this apply to my motor? As well I'm going to be getting a new set of plugs, could anyone recommend a good brand, I've been hearing alot about Bosch Platniums............
