Yes, I think you will notice an improvement. I haven't had personal experience with it on a car with other suspension mods, I think you will like it. And for the price it is definitely worth while. It is a little more than 1/4 the price of the high quality strut tower braces (like UUC) and should have at least as noticable an improvement if not more. On my stock 325i (non-sport) I felt that turn in was slightly improved. The chassis felt a bit more solid overall. I noticed the improvement in spirited cornering, but I also noticed that the car felt more stable at high speed such as when changing lanes on the highway. You will not notice a huge difference in any area, but I think you will have a perceptable improvement in several areas. I think its worth it for around $100 and you can DIY. For more info, check the link at the bottom to my web page. Not all of the site works at the moment, but the x-brace instructions page does work.
Also, where is the cheapest place to get it and is it an aftermarket or OEM part????
The X-brace is an OEM part. It came stock on the '95 M3 LTW and on all E36 3-series convertibles. For a good price, check out www.pacificbmw.com or www.circlebmw.com and if you don't want to order from them, try to get Bavarian Autosport to match one of their prices.
