Here it is in a nutshell...
1. Sealed: great response, higher peak power
2. Ported: good response, lower peak power,
bigger bass boom
2. Bandpass: fair response, lower peak power,
much bigger bass boom

Remember though, dont discount a box because it doesnt look impressive statistically, I advise you to listen to each type before choosing. Size is also and issue too (sealed is the smallest, bandpass the largest). Good luck.
