My car has the sport package and it came with 16" wheels with 225/50 michelin mxx3. These are very good tires, but the treadwear is only 140. I had to replace the tires at 17k(including one drivers school). I bought another set of the same tires for my factory wheels. Recently I purchased a set of Milli Miglia 16X7.5 wheels and I put 225/50 Bridgestone RE730's on them. I am very pleased with these tires. I have done one autoX, one drivers school, and 6,000mi street driving on the RE730's and they have held up much better than I expected and they feel at least as good as my other tires. The treadwear is 300 but the traction rating is better than the michelin's. The Bridgestone RE730 are by far the best high performance tire for the money. Only $109 ea at tire rack.

I'm about to get some 16" rims for my 1993 325i 4dr(currently 205/60-15). Tirerack lists 215/50-16 as a recommended plus size but an online wheel calculator also recommended 245/15-16. What is a good size?

Thanks!
