I'm looking for a replacement for my aging E36, and my problem is I don't like the body style of the E46. The E46 looks like a bloated E36 to me. Anyway, I just test drove a W206 "the new C class" C200 Kompressor Elegance, with 6 speed manual transmission.

For starters to car looks way better bodywise than the E46, and has cleaner, more aggressive lines like those of an E36. Drivability wise, the handling was nimble and it wasn't at all like steering an MB boat of old. The gears seemed a bit rough though and gear changes weren't as smooth as I'm used to. Engine wise, the 2 litre supercharged 4 banger sounded wickedly powerful and high revving. US drivers of course won't get the 4 banger and will have to settle for a naturally aspirated V6.

Anyway, I reckon I just might buy that car. What do you guys reckon. I suppose I should raise shields and prepare to be flamed!! Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, the new C class is a better replacement for the E36 than the E46 is!
