I asked the same question on my 92. They said there is no need to check. The computer check it itself. I also had shifting problem before. I went to mechanic shop for oil change and they made it even worse. I brought the car back about 4, or 5 times with no help. Then I brought it to another shop. This guy said I need a tranny flush cost me $250. After that it drives beautiful.
If you are somewhere in S. CA area, I can give you his number.

This may seem like a stupid question....I have a 1995 325i with automatic transmission. I would like to check the fluid level due to some gear shifting problems. Where do I check the fluid?

Please help,
Jeff
